The disrepect of the title smh Africa's natural resources and men and women are responsible for majority of the wealth in the west. Black slaves built America and their descendants are still treated like 2nd class citizens, white supremacy is the real evil of the world.

OK. Who discovered electricity? Who discovered the polio vaccine? Who put man on the moon? Who discovered the Hawaiian islands? Did the blacks discover the North American continent? Let’s get back to reality.

there's a clear bait and switch here of "African" and "black" (claiming North African, especially Egyptian, contributions as black ones). Also some of these are really grasping at straws, noting contributions that could have only have been introduced when humans only existed in Africa is hardly an "African contribution to world civilisation". NGL this video is a pretty big stretch and feels like overcompensation for an inferiority complex.

Mummification is not a positive contribution to civilization. As a kid I once saw a horror movie about a mummy and it scared the living sh-t out of me. I couldn't sleep for weeks. I was traumatized…

As an African descendant, living in America, I wish our sisters and brothers that were born and raised in Africa would embrace us and teach us as this video does. Simply remembering, we did not choose this American life, it forced us by way of our African ancestors. It was God's will, obviously.

Egyptians are not black, nor do they consider themselves to be "African". That's why Egyptians are so angry about the race-bate Cleopatra on Netflix. Egyptians are closer to being European than they are to sub-Saharan African. So, mummification is not a black, African invention. Besides, the Chinese were doing mummification long before the Egyptians or Libyans.

Counting was invented independently by almost all ancient civilizations. The oldest known examples of counting objects, like the bones you cite, come from ancient China.

I greatly enjoyed the video and learned a lot. But am a little confused. When I looked into who first invented writing I found that the Sumerians first invented writing but that other cultures like the Egyptian, Chinese, indus river valley civilization, and mesoamerica also independently developed writing later.

I also heard that the Chinchorro people of south America made the first mummies, but was unable to find the precise dates for the oldest.

Could some one please point to some information on these topics.

The most impressive one is definitely the astronomy one. It's insane. got such advanced knowledge of the Sirius system, the moons of Jupiter and Saturn's rings without even knowing what a telescope is. They must give the stars an extreme cultural importance for such things to be noticed, which involves a minuscule change of brightness.

How Africa Shaped Our Christmas Celebrations: Discover the Hidden History

Published

on

Interestingly, many Christians, particularly Black Christians, are often unaware of the true origins of the December global celebration. Previously, the celebration was variably scheduled in January, March, April, May, or September, reflecting uncertainty about the actual birthdate of Jesus.
The holidays we observe today have their roots in sacred days from ancient Kemetic or what is popularly known as Egyptian culture, where these occasions were timed with celestial events such as the alignment of stars, constellations, and the sun’s position relative to Earth.

The colonial education narrative has consistently taught, and still teaches, Africans that their ancestors relied solely on oral traditions to transmit knowledge and memory. Sadly, Africans in the so-called West, Central, East, and Southern African regions are unaware of writing systems in these parts of Africa.
