Suicidal Tendencies’ Mike Muir Doesn’t Care About What People Like

Published

on

Mike Muir recently had a chat with The Rockpit. He talked about Infectious Grooves’ new tour in Australia and his music over the years.

The singer mentioned that Suicidal Tendencies became successful in the early days because they made music for themselves, not for an audience. He explained:

“A lot of times, people just wanna be liked and do something they think people will like, and I’d rather do something that I like.”

Muir then gave an example to make his point clear:

“You know, when I eat food, I don’t sit there and go like, ‘Do you like this?’ And someone says, ‘No, I hate it,’ and then I spit it out or something that I hate, like salmon, which I wish I liked.”

Same Idea For The New Records

The singer plans to keep this mindset for his new solo album as well. He announced the record in 2023 during a chat with The Travel Addict and said:

“I’m not trying to make a record that people won’t like, but I really don’t give a f*ck, and I know they probably won’t, but it’s a lot of stuff from different projects I did, bands, Suicidal songs.”

He shared details about the tracks as follows:

“All new songs. Suicidal, Infectious Grooves, No Mercy, all these projects that I was in, a thing I just did when we first got to Sony and when we were [managed by] Q Prime, they called it a solo-cide because they said if anybody heard that, it would kill my music career, which I thought was a very big compliment, but they didn’t think it was a compliment, you know.”

Muir is also planning new albums for Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves. There hasn’t been any news about them yet, but they are expected to release in 2024.

The Singer’s Touring Schedule

Both bands have tours coming up in the next few months.

Infectious Grooves is currently touring with Muir, Dean Pleasants, Robert Trujillo, Dave Kushner, Brooks Wackerman, and Jay Weinberg. They will head to Melbourne, Australia, on March 30 after two shows in Garden Grove, California. This will be the band’s first Australian trek since 2008.

Suicidal Tendencies will start their world tour right after the Infectious Grooves dates end. Their first concert is at the Punk In The Park 2024 festival in Daly City, California, on May 3.

Tommy Lee Mocks Justin Bieber Over His ‘Not So Manly’ Fans

In a new Instagram post, Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee made fun of Justin Bieber for not having tough fans.

The drummer shared a photo of a woman holding a man. The photo had the caption:

“When he listens to Justin Bieber, and she listens to Mötley Crüe.”

Fan Reactions To Tommy’s Post

While some found the post funny, some also saw it as a bad joke due to Bieber’s current depression problems. One user wrote:

“Funniest thing you ever posted.”

Another person said:

“Probably just means the guy is gay.”

One other individual also agreed with what the post suggests:

“She is the one that listens to real music then.”

Another user defended Bieber, writing:

“It’s mean. JB is currently fighting depression, he has experienced a lot of trauma that he has kept to himself for too long, the truth is just starting to come out. I wish him to be happy in his life. He is more mature than you.”

One commenter described Lee as immature:

“You guys were never that good, and you probably can’t dance for sh*t. Dude, you post sh*t like you’re 15 years old. You stopped evolving as a teenager. Go take your Lipitor and call it a night. So embarrassing.”

Lee Actually Listens To Bieber

Previously, Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx said Bieber wouldn’t come to their show, but his music still played at the venue. After one of their gigs, Tommy Lee played Bieber’s ‘Sorry’ in his dressing room and surprised witnesses.

Bieber has struggled with mental health issues like depression and anxiety throughout his career. He’s been honest about these struggles. In his American YouTube series ‘Seasons,’ he talked about battling addiction to lean, MDMA pills, and hallucinogenic mushrooms in the early days of his career.
