Netflix is heading into a new era with their brand new head of film, Dan Lin at the helm.

Netflix has discussed in the news several times about loosing money, and its stock has been wavering in the past couple of years. Enter Dan Lin. Dan Lin is a veteran executive in the entertainment industry and he has said his plan for the massive streamer includes higher quality and fewer projects. Dan Lin was not looking for a new job, but then came an incoming call in early February from Netflix’s chief content officer, Bela Bajaria. According to two people familiar with the meeting that followed, Lin was blunt in his assessment of Netflix’s output: The movies were not great and the financials didn’t add up. Bajaria appreciated the honesty and, shortly after, she asked Lin if he would be open to leaving Rideback, the company the producer had spent the better part of two decades building and joining Netflix in a new role for himself and his vision for entertainment output within the streamer.

At Netflix, Dan Lin will run a division that makes far more titles than any traditional studio, and he will command a budget far superior to anything available in contemporary Hollywood. “He is in charge of film for the biggest film supplier in the world” says one producer. Then there’s the pay. Though salary details were not available, as the source from The Hollywood Reporter notes, “ The money would be hard to replicate, even for a successful producer,” even if the job ends up only lasting a few years. The offer on the table was enough for Lin to take the job. He is retaining a stake in Rideback but otherwise leaving things to partner Jonathan Eirich and Rideback COO Michael LoFaso as the new co-CEOs.

What do you think of these changes? What do you hope to see come out of Netflix’s film division?

Tommy Lee Mocks Justin Bieber Over His ‘Not So Manly’ Fans

In a new Instagram post, Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee made fun of Justin Bieber for not having tough fans.

The drummer shared a photo of a woman holding a man. The photo had the caption:

“When he listens to Justin Bieber, and she listens to Mötley Crüe.”

Fan Reactions To Tommy’s Post

While some found the post funny, some also saw it as a bad joke due to Bieber’s current depression problems. One user wrote:

“Funniest thing you ever posted.”

Another person said:

“Probably just means the guy is gay.”

One other individual also agreed with what the post suggests:

“She is the one that listens to real music then.”

Another user defended Bieber, writing:

“It’s mean. JB is currently fighting depression, he has experienced a lot of trauma that he has kept to himself for too long, the truth is just starting to come out. I wish him to be happy in his life. He is more mature than you.”

One commenter described Lee as immature:

“You guys were never that good, and you probably can’t dance for sh*t. Dude, you post sh*t like you’re 15 years old. You stopped evolving as a teenager. Go take your Lipitor and call it a night. So embarrassing.”

Lee Actually Listens To Bieber

Previously, Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx said Bieber wouldn’t come to their show, but his music still played at the venue. After one of their gigs, Tommy Lee played Bieber’s ‘Sorry’ in his dressing room and surprised witnesses.

Bieber has struggled with mental health issues like depression and anxiety throughout his career. He’s been honest about these struggles. In his American YouTube series ‘Seasons,’ he talked about battling addiction to lean, MDMA pills, and hallucinogenic mushrooms in the early days of his career.
