What Was Life As A Medieval Serf Really Like? | Life In Medieval Times | Chronicle
What was life under the feudal system really like? Medieval society was based on a restrictive system where serfs worked on the land of their lord in exchange for shelter and protection. The period experienced contrasts of boom and bust, with population growth, agricultural advancements, and the rise of knights and tournaments, but also the devastating impact of the Black Death and the Wars of the Roses, leading to the decline of feudalism.

Interestingly, many Christians, particularly Black Christians, are often unaware of the true origins of the December global celebration. Previously, the celebration was variably scheduled in January, March, April, May, or September, reflecting uncertainty about the actual birthdate of Jesus.
The holidays we observe today have their roots in sacred days from ancient Kemetic or what is popularly known as Egyptian culture, where these occasions were timed with celestial events such as the alignment of stars, constellations, and the sun’s position relative to Earth.

The colonial education narrative has consistently taught, and still teaches, Africans that their ancestors relied solely on oral traditions to transmit knowledge and memory. Sadly, Africans in the so-called West, Central, East, and Southern African regions are unaware of writing systems in these parts of Africa.

And they talk about the Russian tsars and emperors being 'bloody' LOL. England's history is like one big oscillating bloodbath, with constant wars and almost animalistic strife. Europe should NEVER talk about Russia being dark or bloody LOL. It was downright tame compared to Europe's bloody history.

Life improved significantly from the 19th century and from the 1960’s it sharply increased in the West! Absolute poverty has gone down dramatically and nice houses and towns and skyscrapers dotted the skyline! Infant mortality was 70% till the 18th century, now it is minimal in many places around the world! But modern philosophy and science has gone down the hill!

life of a serf was better than today: they had homes, families and careers. Also clearly being a warrior is being in fear of being poor, understandable, but not noble at all. NO a Lord could not go get a serf and bring him back if a serf left his land. The Lord had no right in the next county to do so. He could only do something IF the serf returned, which they sometimes did and would get fined.
