Interestingly, many Christians, particularly Black Christians, are often unaware of the true origins of the December global celebration. Previously, the celebration was variably scheduled in January, March, April, May, or September, reflecting uncertainty about the actual birthdate of Jesus.
The holidays we observe today have their roots in sacred days from ancient Kemetic or what is popularly known as Egyptian culture, where these occasions were timed with celestial events such as the alignment of stars, constellations, and the sun’s position relative to Earth.

The colonial education narrative has consistently taught, and still teaches, Africans that their ancestors relied solely on oral traditions to transmit knowledge and memory. Sadly, Africans in the so-called West, Central, East, and Southern African regions are unaware of writing systems in these parts of Africa.

White people don't want their children to know the truth. I have White friends who never knew anything about Black people, other than what their Parents told them and what they'd seen on fox news. They learned a few things in school, but the whitewashed versions. They were appalled to learn about the atrocities committed by their folks . Hatred is a learned behavior. Most teach their children that Black folks are lazy, lack intellect, are drug dealers, thieves, thugs and just want hand outs. Nothing positive, at all. The truth will prevail. We all know who the real evil doers are.

I never understand why more people wont take more responsibility for teaching their own children history instead of relying on the school system or the media. Some people just talk about slavery to trigger some blacks to feel less than, hardly ever talk about all the blacks who invented things, designed things, navigators one even navigated the ship Columbus sailed. Blacks designed building, computers, helped men go into space etc… so they keep whites feeling superior by reminding people about slavery and keeping black reliving slavery as if they are still slaves. They convinced dark skin people that white skin is superior when the darker the skin the longer it can take the sun. The sun is healing, many worship the sun, the sun grows things….They even make new slave movies over and over, keeping the stereo type going. Blacks haven’t been slaves but some talk today as if they are the ones who were, never forget the past but free yourselves from ment

This is why immigration of other minorities is very important! As minorities, we are stronger and safer in large populations! As a Mexican/Jew myself, i have never been discriminated as much or made fun of by other minorities like whites have.

We need t9 continue to teach about Black History. In addition the history needs to go deeper because I never learned the information you are showing in the video. I am not Blaxlck ; however, slavery came to Puerto Rico through slave trade. Therefore, I know I am mixed with African descent because of my features and hair. I love learning more about the culture. I am actually going to Puerto Rico to Loiza to learn more about that part of my culture.

My granny is 98 years old she was born Dec 25th 1925 my great granny which is my grannys mother she was born in 1800s she passed when i was 11/12 I don't remember her age. But her mother was a slave my great granny used to show me pics and letters that she had gotten from her mother and so on. She used to tell me and my siblings all kind of stories about slavery my great granny's mom had three kids by her slave owner. I have a 15 year old son and ppl always make fun of him because his skin color is not the same as my other kids he's actually really light. I hve a sister that's really light my granny is really light. And my granny had a brother her only brother who could pass for white my son looks exactly like him. I'm glad my great granny shared her stories with me i tell them to my children i sure miss her

The Springfield Massacre was not a riot, it was a pogrom. It was systemic genocide. This was similar to Kristallnact, which occurred in Nazi Germany. Jews were lynched and killed by the Nazis in 1938.

I don't get it we as a people need to know where we come from and the b s that we as a race of people had and still go through till this day just like they teach white history the schools need to teach black history the good and the bad but I guess that's that's there way of keeping us down i believe if this younger generation knew we would have more unity as a race of people i guess that's the reason they got rid of all our great leaders that was teaching us about our history and our selves

The strength, endurance and character of a Black man, woman and child adds to their unique mind and soul as the meek of the Earth…of which they will inherit.
As a retired history teacher, I took great pride in constructing and offering my version of US History during February's Black History Month.
I set aside the text and conducted daily lectures from the History books and journals authored by black historians. Factual. I was willing to face termination by circumventing school district curriculum in order to tell the true story of black history articulated by black historians. Such as comparing the Black Panthers of yesteryear to today's movie line and not only the blood line of blacks but the great yet hidden amazing accomplishments of blacks.
I brought all my books into my classroom for the students to check out as each was given an assignment to read as many chapters, if not all of the book, and write a summary of what they read due before March 1.
The exam was constructed from my lectures. All students were offered note-taking lessons as well and were permitted to use their notes during the exam.
The surprise by most of the students were accompanied by their joy of finally learning Factual historical events authored by black historians and ancestors of the race.

Every African American should know that Black Africans enslaved white people first. 3,000 years ago the white Jews were slaves in Egypt for 430 years. Then, in the 1600's, the black African Barbary Pirates sailed out of Northern Africa and raided European seaside villages and took 1.2 million Europeans to Africa to be slaves. The men were castrated and the white women were highly prized sex slaves, raped every day of their lives. Only 366,000 Africans were brought to the US as slaves.

These stories have to be told to our younger generations. Some won't believe it, it's the only way they'll learn. I had articles on black history. I sent them with my younger daughter to school in San Angelo Texas. The white educators took this information and taught the classes. I can't or won't hold ALL whites responsible, some of this is ours also. I may get backlash from my own people, oh well. My nephew and his best friend who is white don't see color, they see what's in their hearts. Enough said…
