Civil rights photos are often pictured in black and white. But A lot of the photos of the civil rights movement were taken in color, but to be printed in magazines and newspapers they had to be in black and white because it was easier to print out. But is the media trying to cover up black history and make it seem like the fight for civil rights was a long time ago, when most of your grandmothers were alive when this was happening.

Many of the pictures at that time were shown in Black and White.

A lot of the oress photography was taken in monochrome because it had a wider dynamic range, faster iso woth lower grain and since they were taken for non color final publishing why go to expense of color film and processing. If it was all about lies and deception why wasnt the rest of the paper or current events then in color.

The only real lie was stating as a fact that all civil rights photos were taken in color. Can you show me the non colorized origonal developed film for all the images that were taken? Or interviewed the original photographers?

So I went to school starting 1971 and the majority of our photos in the yearbook were in black and white. I asked why and was told that it was much cheaper to print them out like that. There’s also that.

Thank You. And by that, I mean THANK YOU to all my black American brothers and sisters who bravely fought (and continue to fight) so that we, all the people of color, can have our rights, freedoms, and voices in this country. And thank you to all my white American brothers and sisters who helped out as well.
As an Asian American man in the U.S., I feel sadly that sometimes we forget who was in our corner, advocating for our rights. It was all the brave civil rights activists like Dr King. And on behalf of all the sacrifices made by them, even Asians in this country can enjoy the rights we have.
So thank you, thank you, thank you. It's not said enough, Thank You.

As an Asian American man, Black History month is the MOST important month for the Asians. It is a month to remember, appreciate, and celebrate the beautiful people in this country who fought for us in our corner.

It was cheaper for newspapers & books to recirculate images in black & white than in color.

Color printing & reproduction had not gotten efficient enough because at the time it was considered too expensive.

Its not a “lie” its because printing companies were trying to not bloat their expenses

Black History Month is a special time in February when we celebrate all the amazing things Black people have done throughout history. It's like a big party to say, "Hey, Black people are awesome, and we want to learn about all the cool stuff they've done!"

Origins and Why It's Important: A long time ago, a smart guy named Carter G. Woodson thought it was important to remember the great things Black people have done. So, he started something called "Negro History Week" in 1926. Later on, it became Black History Month, and now we celebrate it every year. It's important because it helps us learn about Black heroes who fought for fairness and made the world a better place for everyone.

Cool Stuff in Black History: There are so many cool things in Black history! Like, did you know that Abraham Lincoln, who was President a long time ago, made a special law called the Emancipation Proclamation to help free enslaved Black people? And there was a big movement called the Civil Rights Movement where people like Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks worked hard to make sure everyone was treated fairly. Plus, there was this amazing time in Harlem, New York, called the Harlem Renaissance, where Black artists, musicians, and writers shared their talents with the world!

Some Big Problems Still Going On: Even though we've come a long way, there are still some big problems that Black people face today. Like, sometimes police treat Black people unfairly, which isn't right. And not everyone gets the same chances in school or at work because of the color of their skin. We need to work together to fix these problems and make sure everyone is treated fairly.

What We Can Do to Help: We can do lots of things to help make the world a better place for Black people. We can learn about Black history, celebrate Black culture, and stand up for fairness and equality. It's important to treat everyone with kindness and respect, no matter what they look like or where they're from. If we all work together, we can make sure Black History Month isn't just one month of the year, but something we celebrate every day!

Conclusion: Black History Month is a special time to celebrate all the awesome things Black people have done and continue to do. By learning about Black history and standing up for fairness and equality, we can help make the world a better place for everyone.
