Medieval Europe: A Complete Overview
Medieval Europe is a feature length journey through the Middle Ages! It is divided into 5 major timeframes. The Early Middle Ages picks up after the fall of Rome, and deals with the rise of monasticism, the Carolingians, Magyar and Viking invasions, and the feudal and manor systems. Then we head into the High Middle Ages, with a glimpse at village and city life, as well as a tour of each main region, beginning with England. This is followed by a quick overview of the Crusades and religious orders, and then the Late Middle Ages, going over the Black Death, Hundred Years War, and Western Schism. Europe recovers during the Italian Renaissance, as we take a look at the famous artists and humanists of the period, before another short tour of where each region stands as the Medieval age ends. The timeframe goes a bit beyond year 500 to 1500.
This is our DOUBLE-SIZED 7th episode in the Medieval World mega-documentary!

Welcome to The Medieval World series! This series is meant to summarize broad topics in history and balances political history and events, with social/daily life, and culture. If you’ve watched our History of the World documentary, this series is a perfect next step. The videos are standalone, but presented in a chronological fashion. The series will be divided into 8 videos about the Medieval Period, which we call Phase 2. Once these 8 videos are completed, we will move onto Phase 3, but this project will be considered completed, and compiled into ONE MEGA-DOCUMENTARY containing all 8 parts.

AFRICANS VISITED AMERICA 2000 YEARS BEFORE COLUMBUS , 11 UNDENIABLE PROOFS ; Black History.
11 Reasons Tp Prove That Africans Were in America 2000 years Before Colombus.
Let me take you on a journey through some of these fascinating pieces of evidence of African presence in America 2000 years before Columbus. Take them with a grain of salt if you have to, but I think they are worth some consideration.
1. Olmec Heads: The colossal stone heads created by the Olmec civilization in present-day Mexico, which date back to 1500 BCE to 400 BCE, feature distinctly African facial features. These heads feature facial features such as broad noses, full lips, and round faces that clearly resemble those of Africans more than the indigenous populations of the Americas. Tell me this is not a black man right there. The detailed and realistic nature of the Olmec heads suggests they were based on real individuals. It is no wonder not surprising that some researchers contend that these features indicate an African presence in pre-Columbian America.
2. African Artifacts in the Americas: Artifacts such as cotton from Africa and tobacco pipes found in pre-Columbian sites in South America have led some to speculate about transatlantic contact. In addition, metal artefacts with similar metallurgical techniques to those used in West Africa have been found in pre-Columbian American sites.
3
Before the next point kindly give us a like. I know to you it’s a simple click, but to us it means a lot.
3. Botanical Evidence: Certain plants like the bottle gourd and the sweet potato are thought to have originated in Africa and Asia but were present in pre-Columbian America, suggesting possible ancient transoceanic contact.
4. Linguistic Evidence: Some linguists claim to have found similarities between certain Native American languages and African languages. Some proponents argue that there are similarities between ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and symbols found in Mesoamerican writing systems, such as those of the Maya. The Mandinka word “makala,” meaning “rice,” is compared to the similar-sounding words in some Native American languages.
Dr. Clyde Winters points to shared vocabulary and phonetic similarities, such as the word “yu” in Mandinka meaning “to give” and a similar-sounding word in the Olmec language with the same meaning.
Leo Wiener, in his early 20th-century work “Africa and the Discovery of America,” cited examples such as the Wolof word “tem” (to cut) and its similarity to the Algonquian word “temagun” (an axe).
5. THOR HEYERDAHL’S RAFT EXPERIMENTS: The Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl demonstrated with his expeditions (Kon-Tiki and Ra) that it was possible to travel across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans using ancient boat-building techniques, suggesting that such voyages could have occurred in ancient times.
6. Ancient Maps: Some historical maps, such as the Piri Reis map, allegedly show parts of the American continent with a level of detail suggesting pre-Columbian exploration, potentially by African or other non-European civilizations.
7. Skull Analysis: Studies of certain skeletal remains, such as the Luzia Woman found in Brazil, have shown features that some anthropologists argue resemble those of African or Australoid populations rather than Native American populations.
8. Accounts from Early European Explorers: Some early European explorers, such as Vasco Núñez de Balboa, reported encountering dark-skinned peoples in the Americas upon their arrival.
9. Cultural Similarities: Some researchers point to cultural parallels between African and American civilizations, such as pyramid building, similar religious practices, and iconography, as potential evidence of contact.
10. Presence of Black peoples in Asia, Australia and the Pacific. If Black people can be found in as far as the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia many Islands in the Pacific, why can’t they be found in the Americas? I mean it makes no sense for the Americas to be the exception right?
11. Genetic Studies: While controversial and not universally accepted, some genetic studies have indicated the presence of haplogroups in Native American populations that are also found in African populations, suggesting ancient intermingling.

Pick any era, you'll find a war. Politics is rooted in power, not a solution to the world's problems. Was it Einstein who said, keep doing the same thing expecting different results is akin to insanity? But education is the answer! Germany was the most educated nation on the planet, yet a nation of gas ovens and concentration camps.

It’s miracle t me that even one man survived the meal he’s. The constant wars held a very high death toll survival would be pure miracle to say the least. If not the rulers , the religious wars would have been dearly. Perhaps all these senseless wars can help explain the mass migration from Europe in the 1600 hundreds. AND THEY ARE ATILL FIGHTING TODAY IN THE 21st century so Al this warmongering along with he lack of medical knowledge the deaths were inevitable.

I really enjoyed this video. The only thing that put me off, however, is that it doesn't sound like an actual person is narrating… emphasis is in the wrong place and feels like Alexa or Google is narrating. Apologies if I've got this wrong and the narrator is an actual person.

Excellent summary and great video series! Just a tiny comment: on the map shown for 1154 and the angevin kings, Anjou is placed too far north. It is south, not east of Brittany

@MadeInHistory There's a yellow area in the Netherlands, (on the map showing the treaty of Verdun) which accoring to the colour code would make it part of the Papal States, but in those days that was not even land, back then it was a sea.. we didn't create any land in that area untill the last century.
so did you mean just the few tiny fishing islands in that sea or is that a general mistake on the map?

Good documentary for those who already knows who all these people areThe Carolingians which is a north germanic tribe and Great pride of Sweden where they calls themselves karolinere same with all the different goths they are also a north Germanic tribe from the place called Sweden now and the Guy called charlamagne 😂 which he was called because people had a hard time pronouncing he's norse name kjell magne like The Norwegian prime minister all these tribe's was from the norse pre viking age viking culture same with a lot of other groups mentioned here it's almost like it is ignored on purpose just like with the Varangians which is the pre Norwegian Norse vikings of varanger called varanger garden in Norway also known as væringer and Rus Viking's who established kieva Rus which is now Ukraine and Russia. maybe you should make a documentary to introduce all these Norse Germanic tribes as part one of this documentary and include where the Saxon's came from which is also a norse Germanic tribe anyways all these ignored fact's makes me wonder 🤔 who the people i don't already know very well from our national history are and where they originally came from.anyways good summary for those who are already knowledgeable about history

2:09 what? why people who make historic videos insist in this error?? how can this channel be credible in history when mention Spain back areound 418? when Spain only became a thing after 1492. A real historian would refer to Iberia instead because is the name of the Peninsula and because the Visigoths didnt took over only of what is today spain but took also Portugal and Andorra. Get your facts right please as this continuous error is unacceptable from someone who owns a History Channel.
