Tracy McGrady Ponders Over Michael Jordan’s Effectiveness Over Him In Hypothetical 1v1

Published

on

Tracy McGrady was undoubtedly one of the greatest scorers the game has ever seen. Standing at 6’9, the 45-year-old had god-given athleticism to add to an extremely deep repertoire of offensive weapons. And so, when he was asked about it recently, the two-time scoring champion even liked his odds in a 1v1 against the league’s greatest player ever, Michael Jordan.

Speaking on this hypothetical match-up on Instagram, McGrady initially mentioned his height advantage over Jordan, posing that the Bulls legend wouldn’t be able to affect his shot due to it. However, he then gave his opponent his due credit, noting his incredible speed, before saying that it could go either way.

“I’m about three inches taller than MJ, so he won’t affect my shot at all…He’s cat-quick, so I have to give him some space. But he can shoot the mid-range. He elevates well on his shot. MJ was strong. Again, 7-game series. I think it could go either way.”

Many may be quick to dismiss the former Houston Rocket’s opinion on this one. However, before his slew of injuries took a toll on him, McGrady was an absolute menace on both ends of the floor. He could shoot with the absolute best of them, take it to the rack strong, and even lock down the best players in the NBA.

Of course, Michael Jordan would still enter this hypothetical match as the favorite. However, it would be a fool’s errand to count T-Mac out of this one.

Tracy McGrady also chose Bryant over Jordan in a hypothetical 1v1

In the end, McGrady never really revealed who would win in a hypothetical 1v1 between Jordan and him. But one player that T-Mac confidently took over the Chicago icon in a 1v1 was MJ’s protegé, Kobe Bryant.

According to Tracy, Bryant perfected the playstyle that Mike originally played with. This made Bryant the obvious choice in T-Mac’s eyes.

” I’m going with Kob because I think Kobe was the most skilled basketball player I’ve ever seen. I think he took what MJ was and enhanced that skill set.” [per OBL Hoops]

Once again, many may be quick to disagree with T-Mac’s opinion. But the surprising fact is that even Jordan admitted during a SportsCenter interview that Kobe might be the only person who could take Jordan 1v1, courtesy of Bryant stealing all of Jordan’s moves. And so, again, McGrady’s opinion has more than a little credibility to it.

Cooper Kupp’s Wife Anna Shares Why 2023 Season Was “So Much More Difficult” for Her Husband

Cooper Kupp is aiming for a rebound season after two quieter years. However, the Los Angeles Rams wide receiver recently acknowledged that the 2023 NFL season was particularly tough for him during a sit-down podcast conversation with his wife, Anna.

On ‘Daily Grind,’ the Super Bowl LVI MVP and his wife discussed how the 2023 NFL season brought both challenges and growth to their relationship. She compared this to Cooper’s rookie season, which was harder because they felt isolated and didn’t share their struggles with each other. Anna shared,

“Last season, the 2023 season, was so much more difficult in the amount of things you were walking through, but it was so much more enjoyable for us to walk through it. You know, it was still really really hard, and there were such hard things, but because we did it together, we were able to find joy.”

Cooper and Anna are now focused on continuing to strengthen their bond this season by setting boundaries to protect their marriage from external pressures. Communication is crucial for them, and they intend to make an effort to stay in touch and support each other through all the challenges they face.

On a brighter note, Anna added that keeping up with their wild bunch of kids is a whole other adventure. Although their three sons, Cooper Jameson Kupp, Cypress Stellar Kupp, and Solas Reign Kupp, always keep her on her toes, she loves making a list of all the funny, yet absurd things they say, especially their eldest, who uses ‘funked up’ quite a bit.

Before diving into the conversation about the difficulties of last season, Cooper also opened up about how his rookie season setbacks affected his personal life.

Cooper Reveals Emotional Toll of Rookie Year Mistakes

During the conversation, Anna shared that she felt weighed down by Cooper’s every perceived mistake during his rookie NFL season. He would bring his struggles home, isolate himself, and neglect communication, leaving her feeling helpless and unable to offer support.

The star wide receiver agreed, acknowledging that he had carried the weight of his poor plays, such as dropping a touchdown pass in Week 4 and fumbling on the two-yard line against the Vikings.

“I think in rookie year, there were some very clear failures, like dropping a game-winning pass in week four; fumbling on the two-yard line against Minnesota. Times like that made you feel like you were carrying the weight of the world.”

Nevertheless, the power couple learned quite a bit along the way. They realized that while it is acceptable to bring work issues home, discussing them to overcome them openly is equally crucial.

Looking back from 2017 to now, it’s amazing how much Cooper and Anna have grown. They are a team, and that makes all the difference.

Are Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce Ready for Baby No. 4? She Says…

Another Baby Kelce could be on the way in the future.

Kylie Kelce has hinted that she and Jason Kelce aren’t ruling out the possibility of trying for a fourth child. In fact, the retired NFL star’s wife, who shares with her husband daughters Wyatt, 4, Elliotte, 3, and Bennett, 16 months, says she saved some of their kids’ pajamas just in case they do end up having another baby.

“We’re rotating through clothes we bought for our first daughter now to our youngest, so we have gone through a lot of hand-me-downs,” Kylie, 32, told New York Magazine‘s The Strategist in a recent interview. “The Hanna Anderson PJs last forever. We still have some packed up, just in case there ends up being a fourth.”

In March, Jason, 36, debunked rumors that alleged that Kylie was expecting again. “Listen, Kylie, apparently, is pregnant with our fourth child,” the former Philadelphia Eagles center joked to his brother Travis Kelce —known to his daughters as Uncle Travvy—on their New Heights podcast. “It’s a boy.”

Playing along, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end responded, “What, no way!”

Jason continued, “In this made-up universe.”
