African History
Did Africans reach America before Columbus?
Interestingly, many Christians, particularly Black Christians, are often unaware of the true origins of the December global celebration. Previously, the celebration was variably scheduled in January, March, April, May, or September, reflecting uncertainty about the actual birthdate of Jesus.
The holidays we observe today have their roots in sacred days from ancient Kemetic or what is popularly known as Egyptian culture, where these occasions were timed with celestial events such as the alignment of stars, constellations, and the sun’s position relative to Earth.

The colonial education narrative has consistently taught, and still teaches, Africans that their ancestors relied solely on oral traditions to transmit knowledge and memory. Sadly, Africans in the so-called West, Central, East, and Southern African regions are unaware of writing systems in these parts of Africa.

I have a hard time imagining nobody ever made it across the Atlantic prior to Columbus either from Europe or Africa perhaps even by accident having been blown off course. But Columbus made it and returned to report on it and was taken seriously. The Europeans had the seafaring capabilities to follow up.

One of the oldest records of what may have been an encounter with smallpox in Africa is associated with the elephant war circa AD 568 CE, when after fighting a siege in Mecca, Ethiopian troops contracted the disease which they carried with them back to Africa.[citation needed]
Arab ports in Coastal towns in Africa likely contributed to the importation of smallpox into Africa, as early as the 13th century, though no records exist until the 16th century. Upon invasion of these towns by tribes in the interior of Africa, a severe epidemic affected all African inhabitants while sparing the Portuguese. Question: How did those supposed black colonizers avoid transmitting smallpox to the inhabitants of America? miraculously none were carriers? It is already known what happened when the Spanish arrived.
