Claudia Oshry is talking about Ozempic side effects — including hair loss.

On May 1, during a Q&A on her Instagram Stories, the 29-year-old influencer opened up about the complications she experienced while taking Ozempic, an FDA-approved prescription medication for people with type 2 diabetes. 

It’s one of the brand names for semaglutide — also known as Wegovy — which works in the brain to impact satiety. Over the past year it has become very popular for weight loss, both in and out of Hollywood.

Responding to a fan who asked if her hair was thinning from the weight loss aid, Oshry replied, “It didn’t thin but it started SHEDDING — which is literally worse.”

“Overall, I’d say it took 6-9 months to get back to normal,” she said.

Oshry, who rose to fame from her social media account Girl With No Job, said in order to revive her hair she took Nutrafol, hair-growth medication Minoxidil, prenatal vitamins, Vegamour Hair GRO serum, and stayed on top of her “quarterly haircuts.”

Oshry has been transparent about her weight loss journey on social media, first revealing that she was taking Ozempic in an August 2023 episode of her podcast, The Toast podcast.

Initially embarrassed to admit her use of the medication, she later became more comfortable discussing it with her fans.

“The thing that’s been harrowing — like, following me around — everybody wants to know if I’m taking Ozempic, Mounjaro, semaglutide,” she said at the time. “And the answer is: obviously. Yes, of course. You thought they were going to make a weight loss drug and I wasn’t going to take it? You’re dumb. Of course, I’m f—ing taking it.”

“I’m not suggesting anyone do this. I’m not suggesting anyone do anything,” she added. “I just want to share what I’ve been doing. It’s been over a year since I decided I want to change my life. Now, I feel like I’m at a place where I’m comfortable-ish.”

In March, the influencer discussed losing 70 lbs. from the medication and revealed she stopped taking Ozempic in November 2023.

“I’m so hungry all the motherf—ing time and I’m always looking for good treats cause I’m still trying to lose weight but on my own,” Oshry shared in a TikTok video. “I’m always looking for snacks and things to fill me up.”

She continued, “What are we eating to stay full? I cannot stay full, it’s impossible. I just had a 12 oz. steak and I’m starving so I’m eating popcorn. How are we staying full?”

The comedian later admitted that she “feels good” after quitting the weekly injections.

“I think when I was on Ozempic, my biggest fear was being off of it,” she told PageSix. “People would always ask, ‘Well, what are you going to do?’ [I’d say], ‘I don’t know, but I’ll figure it out.’” 

Oshry said she figured out how to lead a “balanced life” by using WeightWatchers and incorporating a high-protein diet and regular exercise.

“I feel very relieved because this idea of the day I get off Ozempic was always like a scary thing for me. It was something I always thought about, but I was just trying to focus on my journey at the time,” she said. “And now that I’ve made it, I feel really good.”

“I feel like it’s doable and if it’s doable for me, it’s doable for anyone. I was the least likely to end up this way,” she explained. “I had a very bad case of whatever it was, of laziness, of obesity, of poor choices, of really [a] lack of willpower. So I feel proud of myself.”
