How Africa Shaped Our Christmas Celebrations: Discover the Hidden History
Interestingly, many Christians, particularly Black Christians, are often unaware of the true origins of the December global celebration. Previously, the celebration was variably scheduled in January, March, April, May, or September, reflecting uncertainty about the actual birthdate of Jesus.
The holidays we observe today have their roots in sacred days from ancient Kemetic or what is popularly known as Egyptian culture, where these occasions were timed with celestial events such as the alignment of stars, constellations, and the sun’s position relative to Earth.

African Written Scripts Unearthed: Beyond Egypt's Hieroglyphs
The colonial education narrative has consistently taught, and still teaches, Africans that their ancestors relied solely on oral traditions to transmit knowledge and memory. Sadly, Africans in the so-called West, Central, East, and Southern African regions are unaware of writing systems in these parts of Africa.

AFRO MEXICO: Black History In Mexico!
@africanastudies
January 25, 2009 at 4:44 am
When one says African Mexican or Afro-Mexican or Mexican of African descent, the First Nations or "native" heritage is contained in the "Mexican" part; so is the Asian and Spanish , among other heritages. What should be understood is that there are no "pure" races. There is only one human kind.

black is term used for only americans the other maybe called dark skinned mexican or afro-Mexican there is big differnce bewteen those people just cause they come from the same place dont mean theyre the same culture wise this aint america this is latin american is very differn from the american culture some are offrened if ya call them black just to let you know there alot more to them than thier skin color

only because of culture many blacks are just as racially mixed as you may be, Beyonce, Halle berry, Obama, Tyra banks, Naomi Campbell . I'm a dark Afro-American. I am of mainly African, but also Italian, Portuguese, Indian descent. There are racial stereotypes, but that doesn't mean you should dis own your ancestors. That's like spitting on their grave. Being Afro Hispanic doesn't make you any less Mexican, or Hispanic, just like being African American doesn't make me any less American. peace!
@Fuzzbabby
February 7, 2009 at 2:13 am
and there's nothing wrong with that why should people feel bad. "Oh sorry I'm black I apologize I'm sorry I don't want to get my blackness on you."lol

Well your right but there is a huge diffrences between the culures and great differnces just cause they came from africa doesnt make them less but doent make them part of our brother hood either some dont even roconize that they came from africa in mexcio there no raceial profileing there so its hard for them to reconize what there true roots are there only one thing we have in common we came from africa…thats it everything else is differnt completely simlar but over all very diffrent

This is most definitely Mexican music. No music is pure. There was tremendous cross-pollination between Cuba, Mexico, and the Caribbean, in general. Also, the Gulf Coast had its centuries-long African influence, hence, "La Bamba" and strong influence of the "son jarocho" brought by African slaves. That jarocho culture readily mixed with Afro-Caribbean cultures. It still happens today.

Cubans and Mexicans are brothers this is probably somehting you guys should keep in mind.
Cubans love Mexicans and Mexicans love Cubans thats a fact.

It is good to see that there is a debate going. Remember that for over three hundred years before there were nations, all of the countries forming the so-called Latin America were one entity under Spanish control. They were known as the Spanish colonies in America. The cultures and peoples of these entities we all have a common past and descend from the same African, First Nations, Asian and European ancestors.

Mexicans are blacks.
@estorpai
March 27, 2011 at 7:17 pm
@AztecTripleAlliance
Anything Brown falls under Black.
A drop of non caucasian in your blood means u are black. The racist expert who drafted the racist report card made you know this under the Jim Crow law.
Now, the diferrences is that some black people aree darker, others, less darker, not withstanding, they are all blacks.
Thus MEXICANS ARE ALL BLACK LIKE IT OR THEY DO NOT LIKE IT, they are profiled as blacks.
@estorpai

@AztecTripleAlliance
Do not get emotional but get logical.
The white man who classidied races in the first place things the only white race in this Planet is Caucasian Human. Not even Spanish are considered whites cos the look more like Arabs where they real t do come from.
Chinese, Middle easterners are not consider and will never be considered white by a caucasian, JUST LIKE MEXICANS WILL NEVER BE SEEN AS WHITES BY cAUCASIANS.In USA, they called Mexicans, WET BACKS, not whites.
@estorpai
March 28, 2011 at 8:44 am
It so hard to understand cos u are not telling facts, you are trying to twist facts just as manipulators do.
Anyhow, stay with ur ideas and i stay with Western Ideas which holds that Mexicans, ARE NOT AND NEVER WILL BE WHITES, THEY ARE BLACKS.
Good luck in ur quest to be a white

I recently vacationed in Mexico and it's now my new favorite place. Interestingly I came across some Native Mexicans and Mexican Americans who bear witness to a pre-Colombian presence in the region. Joombohteek family.
