9 million views! And deserves 9 million more! the 'David Attenborough' of civilisation history, being great storytelling, combined with amazing visuals! or is David the 'Paul Cooper' of nature documentaries? – Also just found out about your other books and that definitely explains the storytelling talent!

Im curious. When a black man makes or puts together a documentary hes considered an afrocentrist. But europeans do it and its well received by audience? Thats crazy.

I love your style and subject matter, but please stop the exaggerations of institutions based upon current politics when you reference ancient environments. It detracts from the ability to truly embrace "how it must have felt" to be there.

What's with people in ancient times burning books, libraries, etc?

Imagine all the knowledge lost during the burning of the books in Timbuktu. Along with the Great Library of Alexandria, the Codicies of the Mayan, etc

Why does the Ghana Empire on the map in this documentary show it as North West of Where Ghana on google earth actually is? I think North Africa , the Sahara has literally eaten up centuries of history. Maybe Islam was invented In Mali then taken to Mecca because they didn't know in the early days which way to face to pray. Archeoligist have found temples that face Timbuktu some face Mecca , If Islam was founded in Timbuktu they would worship facing East towards Mecca , if Islam was taken to Mecca confusion about whether to face Timbuktu because that's where Islam was invented or face East because that's where the sun rises.

Fall of Civilizations is a great channel. Full of wonder of the great heights man has achieved and sadness for the great depths that have so often followed. The continual yin and yang of our human existence shows how fragile a balance between the two has been and how much we need to work to maintain it.

Slavery in Africa was not bread on hatred like it was in the Americas. Slaves were treated as assets, fed, housed and not beaten down like dogs in America.

What kind of mythical, magical, mathematical wizardry did some scientist come up with that would prove or even theorize that the Sahara Desert is created by a gravitational wabble on the Earth caused by the gentle pool of the other planets in our Solar System????😂😂😂. I'm not gonna sit here and act like I know why does Sahara Desert exists but that is a stretch especially because you can't prove it scientifically. I would rather go with the theory that you shouldn't cut down so many trees because it may cause a desert!!! at least that theory can be tested.

How Africa Shaped Our Christmas Celebrations: Discover the Hidden History

Published

on

Interestingly, many Christians, particularly Black Christians, are often unaware of the true origins of the December global celebration. Previously, the celebration was variably scheduled in January, March, April, May, or September, reflecting uncertainty about the actual birthdate of Jesus.
The holidays we observe today have their roots in sacred days from ancient Kemetic or what is popularly known as Egyptian culture, where these occasions were timed with celestial events such as the alignment of stars, constellations, and the sun’s position relative to Earth.

The colonial education narrative has consistently taught, and still teaches, Africans that their ancestors relied solely on oral traditions to transmit knowledge and memory. Sadly, Africans in the so-called West, Central, East, and Southern African regions are unaware of writing systems in these parts of Africa.
