The ENTIRE History of The British Empire | 4K Documentary

Published

on

A single empire in Europe would take over a quarter of the planet’s land and population.
The foundations began on the lands of England, with a powerful British Monarchy igniting an extraordinary story of exploration and world domination.
The British Empire saw the greatest stories of human achievement and triumph.
But also saw the worst sides of humanity.

After the discovery of America around 500 years ago, they ventured out into the oceans.
The British would encounter unknown civilizations, creating historic partnerships and rivalries.
Within 4 centuries, the empire would be worth over 600 billion dollars.
But how did an empire that owned parts of The Americas, Asia, Africa and even Australia eventually come to an end?
We must start from the beginning.

21:00 what was the innovative techniques? Every tactic you showed here was used by the Romans against the Carthaginian fleets. Not much innovation in copying the strategies of an ancient civilization. Smart, but not innovative.

Seems to be completely about the wars and battles that happend during the british empire. Historicly the British empire was build on technologies that helped with production, scientific discoveries, political systems which stablised and contributed to the future of governments world wide. There are many more part of the British empire in the way it was built and what the empire did. Not much mention of the abolishment of slavery which is where most of the empires money went into and drove the empire bust even though it took over 2 centuries. The British empire was spread through mass production and the industrail evolution more than anything and even though the empire had done bad things it left good things behind.

Reminder, Spain and Portugal did the same to indigenous Central and South Americans as the English and French did to indigenous North Americans, as well as building and growing the slave trade all the same. Make sure to remind your hispanic/latin friends and foes of that the next time they want to demonize and lay all the blame for colonialism and slavery at only the English or French.

An empire that no matter that some claim was the biggest ever, not Ghengis Khan, Napoleon, Alexander, Rome, Vikings, but a tiny island that at one time was itself partly taken by Rome and the Vikings. The British didn’t just take, they improved many lives, it wasn’t just slavery and raping the resources. I get a hint of begrudging envy from the narrator. He portrayed America and it’s attempt at independence as heroic, yet I have seen shows where Americans themselves, also with historical knowledge say even at the time it was frowned upon when American militia was hiding behind trees and shooting redcoats in the back. It was a good docu, I enjoyed it. Obviously there was much to cover in not a huge amount of time…nothing was mentioned about how much Britain has given to the world, more than any other country. But it is now time to concentrate on Britain and stop interfering with countries who are foes and show no goodwill among those who have given asylum to because as in the West all over the biggest war ever is on the horizon

Interesting, virtually all of the narrative about the Mayflower around 31:45 is a near direct copy of what is written in the Wikipedia article for the Mayflower: "The ships set sail for America around August 5, but Speedwell sprang another leak shortly after, which necessitated the ships' return to Dartmouth for repairs. They made a new start after the repairs, but more than 200 miles (320 km) beyond Land's End at the southwestern tip of England, Speedwell sprang a third leak. It was now early September, and they had no choice but to abandon Speedwell and make a determination on her passengers."

and, "When Mayflower sailed from Plymouth alone on September 16 [O.S. September 6], 1620, with what Bradford called "a prosperous wind",  29  she carried 102 passengers plus a crew of 25 to 30 officers and men, bringing the total aboard to approximately 130. At about 180 tons, she was considered a smaller cargo ship, having traveled mainly between England and Bordeaux with clothing and wine, not an ocean ship."

and, "In mid-ocean, the ship came close to being totally disabled and might have had to return to England or risk sinking. A storm had so badly damaged its main beam that even the sailors despaired. By a stroke of luck, one of the colonists had a metal jackscrew that he had purchased in Holland to help in the construction of the new settler homes. They used it to secure the beam, which kept it from cracking further, thus maintaining the seaworthiness of the vessel."

Those who criticise the British for historical events should take a closer look at their own country's history. Every nation has its dark chapters, and it's important to recognize that the extensive and well-documented nature of British history often makes it appear more controversial. However, this doesn't mean that other nations haven't engaged in similar or even worse actions; it simply may not be as thoroughly recorded or as well-known.

It's also crucial to understand the context and circumstances of the past. Societal norms, values, and knowledge were vastly different, and judging historical actions by today's standards is unreasonable and unproductive. Instead, we should learn from history, acknowledging both the good and the bad, to ensure that we can build a better future.

AFRICANS VISITED AMERICA 2000 YEARS BEFORE COLUMBUS , 11 UNDENIABLE PROOFS ; Black History.

Published

11 Reasons Tp Prove That Africans Were in America 2000 years Before Colombus.
Let me take you on a journey through some of these fascinating pieces of evidence of African presence in America 2000 years before Columbus. Take them with a grain of salt if you have to, but I think they are worth some consideration.
1. Olmec Heads: The colossal stone heads created by the Olmec civilization in present-day Mexico, which date back to 1500 BCE to 400 BCE, feature distinctly African facial features. These heads feature facial features such as broad noses, full lips, and round faces that clearly resemble those of Africans more than the indigenous populations of the Americas. Tell me this is not a black man right there. The detailed and realistic nature of the Olmec heads suggests they were based on real individuals. It is no wonder not surprising that some researchers contend that these features indicate an African presence in pre-Columbian America.

2. African Artifacts in the Americas: Artifacts such as cotton from Africa and tobacco pipes found in pre-Columbian sites in South America have led some to speculate about transatlantic contact. In addition, metal artefacts with similar metallurgical techniques to those used in West Africa have been found in pre-Columbian American sites.

3
Before the next point kindly give us a like. I know to you it’s a simple click, but to us it means a lot.
3. Botanical Evidence: Certain plants like the bottle gourd and the sweet potato are thought to have originated in Africa and Asia but were present in pre-Columbian America, suggesting possible ancient transoceanic contact.

4. Linguistic Evidence: Some linguists claim to have found similarities between certain Native American languages and African languages. Some proponents argue that there are similarities between ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and symbols found in Mesoamerican writing systems, such as those of the Maya. The Mandinka word “makala,” meaning “rice,” is compared to the similar-sounding words in some Native American languages.

Dr. Clyde Winters points to shared vocabulary and phonetic similarities, such as the word “yu” in Mandinka meaning “to give” and a similar-sounding word in the Olmec language with the same meaning.
Leo Wiener, in his early 20th-century work “Africa and the Discovery of America,” cited examples such as the Wolof word “tem” (to cut) and its similarity to the Algonquian word “temagun” (an axe).

5. THOR HEYERDAHL’S RAFT EXPERIMENTS: The Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl demonstrated with his expeditions (Kon-Tiki and Ra) that it was possible to travel across the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans using ancient boat-building techniques, suggesting that such voyages could have occurred in ancient times.

6. Ancient Maps: Some historical maps, such as the Piri Reis map, allegedly show parts of the American continent with a level of detail suggesting pre-Columbian exploration, potentially by African or other non-European civilizations.

7. Skull Analysis: Studies of certain skeletal remains, such as the Luzia Woman found in Brazil, have shown features that some anthropologists argue resemble those of African or Australoid populations rather than Native American populations.

8. Accounts from Early European Explorers: Some early European explorers, such as Vasco Núñez de Balboa, reported encountering dark-skinned peoples in the Americas upon their arrival.

9. Cultural Similarities: Some researchers point to cultural parallels between African and American civilizations, such as pyramid building, similar religious practices, and iconography, as potential evidence of contact.

10. Presence of Black peoples in Asia, Australia and the Pacific. If Black people can be found in as far as the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Malaysia many Islands in the Pacific, why can’t they be found in the Americas? I mean it makes no sense for the Americas to be the exception right?

11. Genetic Studies: While controversial and not universally accepted, some genetic studies have indicated the presence of haplogroups in Native American populations that are also found in African populations, suggesting ancient intermingling.
