Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos Appeared in St. Elmo’s Fire

Published

on

Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos had her very own Brat Pack moment thanks to her appearance in St. Elmo’s Fire.

The Bachelor Nation star, 61, revealed she was a background actor in the 1985 John Hughes film — while teasing her celebrity crush.

“I love Rob Lowe. I think he’s so freaking handsome, and he’s funny, and he’s a great actor,” Joan told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published on Thursday, June 20. “I was actually an extra in a movie that he was in, so I met him in person. I’ve loved him since I was 21 years old. I was in St. Elmo’s Fire. You can see me, like, in a split second as an extra.”

52 minutes into the film, cameras catch Joan riding on a bicycle past a fraternity house as Lowe’s character, Billy Hicks, sits outside. St. Elmo’s Fire and other iconic coming-of-age movies in the ‘80s, like The Breakfast Club, earned a cult following. Many of the films’ stars, including Lowe, now 60, Molly Ringwald and Demi Moore were grouped together and referred to as the Brat Pack.

The Brat Pack will be reuniting to grace screens for the first time since the height of their Hollywood reign. Andrew McCarthy, best known for his starring roles in Pretty in Pink and St. Elmo’s Fire, is bringing the famed group of actors back together for a Hulu documentary — aptly titled Brats — that […]

St. Elmo’s Fire was filmed in several locations, including Washington, D.C., and around Joan’s home state of Maryland, which may be how she became connected with the background acting gig. After her appearance in the ‘80s flick, she did not go on to pursue a career in acting. The reality star now works in alumni relations for a school in Bethesda, Maryland.

Joan is the first-ever Golden Bachelorette after appearing in the debut season of The Golden Bachelor, which starred Gerry Turner. She left during week 3 because of a family emergency involving her daughter, who had just given birth. Joan is a widower, and her late husband, John, died in 2021 at age 59 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

As she prepares to meet the contestants vying for a rose, Joan teased that in addition to Rob Lowe, Kevin Costner is also her type.

“I love Kevin Costner. Since Yellowstone, I just think he is the rugged, sexy guy,” she said. “Kind of opposite of Rob Lowe, who’s kind of polished. He is so darn handsome.”

Looks aside, Joan is looking for a “family man” who knows how to treat a lady.

“My father was the ultimate gentleman. He opened doors, carried everything, hopped up when a woman walked in the room, was always polite, never cussed, just was such a gentleman. I am looking for a gentleman,” Joan said. “There is something about that that is so charming and endearing to me.”

She continued, “I’m also looking for somebody that has a little sense of adventure. I worked my whole life getting to this place in life, and had planned on having all those adventures with John.”

Joan has “really missed” planning a future with someone after the death of her husband, adding, “I am ready for somebody that has a little sense of adventure and ready to have some fun. You only get to do this once. You only get to live once. It’s a big world and I’m ready to see it. I feel like I gotta get moving.”

Lily Allen Starts OnlyFans Account for Her Feet

Published

on

Lily Allen is dipping her toes in the OnlyFans pool.

In fact, the “Smile” singer has launched an account on the subscription-based platform—which is known to host NSFW content—solely for pictures of her feet.

On July 2, Lily shared footage from her and husband David Harbour‘s trip to Italy, including a video of her leg dangling next to a fountain. However, she covered her bare foot with an emoji of a heart in the colors of the Italian flag, writing on Instagram Story, “La dolce feeta.”

The post was accompanied by a link to her OnlyFans page, where the 39-year-old jokingly wrote in the description, “Just here for the shoes.”

And Lily has always been comfortable in tapping into taboo. As she recently noted, “I’m quite into normalizing everything that people are ashamed about in themselves.”

“I’m always wanting to do that,” Lily said on the June 17 episode of her Miss Me? podcast with cohost Miquita Oliver. “To me, that’s what art is.”

Paul George, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey Capable of Taking on Celtics Says ESPN Analyst

Published

Paul George‘s move to Philly may have been a shock, but it’s one that fans will welcome with open arms and brotherly love. Truth is, his mere presence makes the 76ers more of a contender than they’ve ever been in the Joel Embiid era. ESPN analyst Tim Bontemps even elaborated on the presence that PG13 will have on the franchise and claimed they now have the best Big 3 in the entire NBA.

The ESPN analyst said that the 76ers had promised their star player Joel Embiid that would get him a teammate of PG-13’s caliber for a year. All the management asked from him was patience and it seems like having patience has paid off well. Now, the Philly franchise has Embiid, PG-13, and Tyrese Maxey, which Bontemps believes is the new and the best Big 3 in the league.

“The Sixers now have the best big three in the NBA, it’s really not close. With the three guys they have right now, all of them were All-Stars last year. You’ve got a lead guard in Maxey, you’ve got an elite two-way wing in Paul George, and you’ve got maybe the most dominant big in the league in Joel Embiid.”

Embiid, Maxey, and George are all different stylistically. While Embiid and Maxey showed they can be a great duo last season, adding George to this cocktail only makes them more of a lethal and well-rounded team. Bontemps said, “They have the highest ceiling now of any team in the league but the Boston Celtics. They can go toe-to-toe with the Boston Celtics, depending on how healthy these guys are.”

The ESPN analyst believes that in terms of quality, the 76ers Big 3 is so much better than the Big 3 that the Phoenix Suns assembled. Bontemps said that the Suns Big 3 was “flawed from the start” but that won’t be the case with this one consisting of Embiid, George, and Maxey. He also applauded the Philly franchise for acting quickly on the opportunity to sign the nine-time All-Star.

He believes that this will be a game changer for the team, and they now have a very strong case as a title contender, something that wasn’t even an option before they signed the former Clipper.

Professional Life: After appearing in all three High School Musical films, Hudgens went on to star in films such as Bandslam, Beastly, Sucker Punch, Spring Breakers, Machete Kills, Second Act and Bad Boys for Life.

High School Musical was a fantastic journey, but it completely derailed me from where I originally saw my career going,” Hudgens told The Guardian in an August 2018 interview. “I always wanted to be the indie girl; I always wanted to be in the movies where I’m playing a drug addict or a stripper or a prostitute. That was my goal since I was like, 11.”

In 2015, Hudgens made her Broadway debut in a revival of the musical Gigi. The following year, she returned to her musical roots and played Rizzo in Fox’s Grease Live! Then, in 2019, she joined Fox’s live staging of Rent. Plus, she starred in Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s movie adaptation of Rent creator Jonathan Larson‘s autobiographical musical tick, tick…BOOM!

Personal Life: In 2011, a year after Hudgens and Zac Efron split, she began dating actor Austin Butler. The couple split in early 2020. In December 2023, she married MLB star Cole Tucker after three years of dating. The pair are now expecting their first child
