Christopher Columbus Did Not Discover America? Who Did? #shorts
Interestingly, many Christians, particularly Black Christians, are often unaware of the true origins of the December global celebration. Previously, the celebration was variably scheduled in January, March, April, May, or September, reflecting uncertainty about the actual birthdate of Jesus.
The holidays we observe today have their roots in sacred days from ancient Kemetic or what is popularly known as Egyptian culture, where these occasions were timed with celestial events such as the alignment of stars, constellations, and the sun’s position relative to Earth.

The colonial education narrative has consistently taught, and still teaches, Africans that their ancestors relied solely on oral traditions to transmit knowledge and memory. Sadly, Africans in the so-called West, Central, East, and Southern African regions are unaware of writing systems in these parts of Africa.

Christopher Columbus most certainly DISCOVERED The Americas. It doesn’t matter that the Vikings or possibly a Chinese sailor made landfall. Columbus discovered two gigantic land masses full of animals, plants and peoples unknown to the old world (Europe, Asia & Africa). Columbus established cultural exchange and lasting communication between the eastern and western hemispheres of the planet.
One definition to Discover is -to make known. Which he most certainly did. He is the reason why Latinos exist in central and South America.

Why does it matter since that land is millions of years old and people have roamed around earth where there isn’t even records or know what a map is. As far as we know native Americans lived here for a long time and we can say the same to anywhere in the world on who discovered what.

Christopher Columbus, a Genoese explorer sailing under the flag of Spain, is one of the most renowned figures in history. The exchange of goods, animals, plants, and ideas between Europe and the Americas, known as the Columbian Exchange, transformed economies, societies, and cultures on both continents. While Columbus himself never reached the mainland of North America, his expeditions laid the groundwork for subsequent European exploration and colonization of the Americas.
Despite his historical significance, Columbus's legacy is deeply controversial. Critics argue that his voyages also led to the exploitation, displacement, and suffering of indigenous peoples in the Americas. Columbus and his men imposed colonial rule, enforced labor systems, and introduced diseases that devastated native populations. Additionally, Columbus's actions and treatment of indigenous peoples have been condemned as exploitative and oppressive.
In recent years, there has been a growing reevaluation of Columbus's legacy, with calls to reexamine the celebration of Columbus Day and the glorification of Columbus as a hero. Some cities and states have opted to rename the holiday as Indigenous Peoples' Day to honor and recognize the contributions and resilience of Native American communities.
