Cameroon: The Secret of Peace | Documentary

Published

on

Cameroon is one of the few African countries enjoying true ethnic and religious harmony since its independence. It seems like a miracle when observing Cameroon’s extreme diversity of more than 200 ethnic groups and about fifty churches and religious cults yet Christians, Muslims and Animists are respectful of each other’s beliefs, and coexist peacefully. The neighbouring countries of Chad, Nigeria and Congo have all been faced with civil wars or religious clashes. What is the secret of such a stability and balance in Cameroon ?

From North to South, from small villages to big cities, this film lets us meet the people of Cameroon. Muslims or Christians, sorcerers, priests and homeless kids tell us about their hopes and fears. Along the way, surprising characters reveal themselves. They wonder what the future holds for their country but keep faith in their beliefs and values.

I am a believer in Jesus Christ!! I know that Muslims believe he is a prophet!! It's in there book!! Sorry I don't know how to spell it!! Minister that I was listening to was saying Muslims believe everything that Christians believe except that he is the Son of God!! He asked his Muslim friend who was Jesus's Father and he said the Holy Spirit too!! Then how come he isn't the Son of God then!!

Islam will ultimately take over Cameroon look at how many children they have its truely a religion of conquest they have multiple wives and lots of children this is the true power of Islam once the population is 50% or more of the country they may very well kill all non Muslims or at the very least extremly subjugate them this has been true of every Muslim country

You must have your eyes and ears shut. What about the current Francophone Cameroonian treatment of Anglophone Cameroonians – . anglophone children can't be educated in English, Anglophone college and University students are shut out of their means to study. What about the arrests and torture going now ???

  26. @lebaganuvala5953

If you are not Cameroonian, it would be advisable not to make any ignorant and or stupid comments about what you don't even know about. Also, don't read the comments below because all of them are completely toxic.

I try my best to see no beliefs as superior or inferior to mine. Even though I once tried to convert to Islam, now I try to focus on Christianity, on the Christian Orthodox Church (I was originally baptised as a Roman Catholic). But I try to see Islam, Judaism and Christianity as followers of the same God.

I am already in my early twenties, and i certainly believe that Jesus can be described as a leading prophet. I also believe that the woman has a central role in the family, in love- both the man and the woman should choose their bride or groom. But one must consider one family's advice.

How Africa Shaped Our Christmas Celebrations: Discover the Hidden History

Published

on

Interestingly, many Christians, particularly Black Christians, are often unaware of the true origins of the December global celebration. Previously, the celebration was variably scheduled in January, March, April, May, or September, reflecting uncertainty about the actual birthdate of Jesus.
The holidays we observe today have their roots in sacred days from ancient Kemetic or what is popularly known as Egyptian culture, where these occasions were timed with celestial events such as the alignment of stars, constellations, and the sun’s position relative to Earth.

The colonial education narrative has consistently taught, and still teaches, Africans that their ancestors relied solely on oral traditions to transmit knowledge and memory. Sadly, Africans in the so-called West, Central, East, and Southern African regions are unaware of writing systems in these parts of Africa.
