Black Africans Amongst Others Arrived in the Americas Long Before Columbus. For years, the history of the Americas has been taught as a story of discovery and conquest, with Christopher Columbus as the hero who “discovered” the New World. But recent evidence suggests that this history is much more complex and diverse than we have traditionally been taught. One of the main pieces of evidence supporting the notion that black Africans and other people had visited the Americas before Columbus is the presence of African and non-indigenous artifacts in the Americas. For example, there are carvings of African faces in the ruins of ancient Mexican and South American civilizations, such as the Olmec heads. These carvings, along with other cultural artifacts, suggest that there was trade and cultural exchange between Africa and the Americas.

The Olmec's don't look black. They look like the Maya. There are plenty of Maya where I live and none of them are black, but their faces look just like that statue. Also, you show blacks riding horses. There were no horses in the western Hemisphere or on the African continent. Showing me pictures of artwork that was made 2 years ago does not constitute evidence.

Before the Europeans enslaved black people they stole/took from African they did to the Indigenous people. So many indigenous people were killed when they were enslaved that they decided by consultation from the Pope to enslaved Africans. Christopher Columbus most certainly DISCOVERED The Americas. It doesn’t matter that the Vikings or possibly a Chinese sailor made landfall. Columbus discovered two gigantic land masses full of animals, plants and peoples unknown to the old world (Europe, Asia & Africa). Columbus established cultural exchange and lasting communication between the eastern and western hemispheres of the planet.
One definition to Discover is -to make known. Which he most certainly did. He is the reason why Latinos exist in central and South America.

Why do Black Americans feel the need and the right to steal and appropriate our culture. Latin Americans, especially those of us with both Native indigenous and old world Latin blood know our history and culture and the racists of the USA always try and talk down to us. It’s sickening.
