Vicente Guerrero: Mexico's First Black President

As a young mule driver traveling across the Mexican country, Guerrero became a stout opponent against Spain and its oppressive rule. As a man he became a leader for his people and a national hero for his constant rebellions against Spain and anyone else who tried to oppress his people.

Great video! Many figures during the revolution were of African decent including Maria Morelos. You should do a video on Gaspar Yanga. He was said to be of African royalty who came to Mexico as a slave and led a rebellion against the Spanish and formed the first free black town. In 1871 he was designated a national hero.
