The Collab We Didn’t Know We Needed: Simple Plan Reimagines Disney Hit Songs

Disney just announced the drop of a new single featuring award-winning pop punk band, Simple Plan- a rendition of “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” from The Lion King. The single is a part of a new album, A Whole New Sound, honoring Walt Disney Animation Studios 30^th anniversary.

For a A Whole New Sound, Mickey Mouse and his Friends have brought together some of their favorite alternative, rock, and pop-punk bands to reimagine the biggest hit Disney songs. The full album and vinyl will be available later this year.

This first single is a pop-punk cover of a beloved classic. It’s available now on all streaming platforms including Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music.

Simple Plan told Press Pass LA, “We wanted to pay homage to Sir Elton John’s original version while also adding our own style to it and making it sound fun and energetic. We’re really stoked by how it turned out and we hope everyone will enjoy it.”

The artwork for the new album was also revealed today, featuring Mickey & Friends with a whole new look. 

Simple Plan is also set to take the stage and play the new track live this August at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa^®.
